Cold Weather Exercise

Do your new year's resolutions include staying more active? We are with ya!  Winter and snow activities are super fun but make sure you stay safe out there! Here are some tips from our team at Move RX:

  • Check weather and wind chill – wind can penetrate your clothes and make outdoor time miserable

  • Dress in layers – too warm? No problem, remove a layer! Chilly? Easy, add it back on!

  • Protect your hands, head, feet and ears – all our extremities are at more risk for frostbite since our body is heated from its core centre

  • Stay safe – wear a helmet when skiing, snowmobiling, or skating and wear reflective gear if you will be outside in the dark

  • Stay hydrated – just as important in the winter, keep up those fluids! It can be harder to notice if you are dehydrated in cold weather. Find out how much water to drink daily here

If you are looking for a gym program that is customized to your needs, our kinesiologist can ensure you are equipped with one.
