Tips to Stay Healthy and Enjoy this Holiday Season!

the Moverx team in kelowna BC wishing a merry christmas

December is here and it is time to enjoy the beautiful festive season. No matter how you celebrate, it is still important to prioritize your physical and mental health during the madness of what can be the holidays. Because we care about you here at Move RX, we put together some of our best tips to make the holiday season the jolliest it can be!

Set time aside to destress.

The holidays can be a crazy time for anyone.  Make sure you take time at least once a day for 5 minutes of mindfulness.  It can be 5 minutes of breathing practice (diaphragm, diaphragm, diaphragm!), writing in your journal, or just enjoying that cup of coffee or egg nog.  Those five minutes can keep you in the present and allow you to fully enjoy every moment of the holidays.

Move, move, move!

The holidays are no excuse to let your exercise routine take a snooze. Modify your workouts so you still have enough time to enjoy your celebrations, but try to plan ahead. Schedule those walks or workouts in and don’t break that date with yourself! Better yet, involve friends and family

Give yourself some TLC!

It is the end of the year and those benefits are going to be gone.  Move RX will be here for you through the holiday, and we can help you stay moving pain free so you can enjoy all the activities throughout the holidays.

Move better, feel better, perform better with our therapists at Move RX. Call the clinic at 250-717-8445 to book your appointment today or book online!  We direct bill so you don’t have to!

Enjoy the treats!

Eat the chocolate.  Have that extra serving of stuffing.  It is how many meals out of the entire year?  It will not derail your progress.  Enjoy the food with none of the guilt.  If anyone tries to make you feel guilty… shove some chocolate in their mouth and smile :)

After you have had your fill, join us for our first Workshop of 2022 with Heather Narraway (RMT and Precision Nutrition Coach) who will talk about “How to Make Nutrition Work For You!”.

Tuesday Jan 18 from 6-7pm, she will walk you through tips on how to make nutrition easy, provide healthy homemade protein treat samples and Meal Prep 4 U Protein donuts! Email info@moverx.ca for more information and to donate to confirm your spot!  All donations from the 2022 Workshops will go to Foundry Kelowna.

Wishing you the happiest of holidays from the team here at Move RX!
